In this two-day workshop you will build a 16” high coffee table out of cherry that is 36” wide by 16” across. We will start by creating glue joint fits between two to three boards for the 16” x 36” panel that forms the top. The class will then go on to cut strips for the legs and stretchers with a track saw and cut them to length with a KAPEX Miter Saw. A DOMINO DF 500 will be employed to mortise and tenon all the parts together. The top will be attached with mortise buttons (the mortises cut with the Domino) which allow the top to expand and contract with changes in humidity, but remain firmly attached to the base.

In one weekend you will learn machine methods to make fine furniture quickly and accurately. The track saw gives glue-ready edges befitting of a jointer (but does not take up the shop space of a stand-alone jointer). It will also cut 4' x 8' sheet goods quickly and accurately.
